Our carers can access all our Policies and Procedures, Foster Carer Handbook, blank documents, training information and additional guidance via our online CHARMS portal.
We consider our foster carers to be part of a professional care team based around the child. We often consult our foster carers regarding issues such as appropriate training and children’s social activities. We greatly value their input especially their role in meeting potential carers and providing feedback.
Our foster carers are incredibly supportive of one another. Our experienced carers often act as mentors to those less experienced, and our social work team are here to support them at panel and with placements, if required, and be there to talk to.
There is always someone there to help.
Our carers are integral to the agency. In addition to social work support, they also have access to support and guidance from a clinical child psychologist Dr Nikki Hill of Aspire Psychological Services, who will work with them to provide the best means of intervention and responses to our children and young people who may be having difficulties or experiencing crisis.
