Evolve Fostering are happy to receive applications from carers who wish to transfer from a Local Authority or another agency.
If you have a current foster placement our first priority will be the continuity of the foster child’s care and their ongoing placement with you. We will look carefully at the needs of the young person and how we can help and support you in continuing to meet those needs.
To complete this process we use the Fostering Network’s transfer of carers protocol. This will involve meetings between yourselves, the Local Authority, and your current agency to discuss the proposed move, timescales, transfer dates etc. The meeting will then be followed by the usual assessment processes and references from your current agency, together with a review of your carer file.
In all such transfers the terms of the placement, for both yourselves and the Local Authority, will be honoured for its duration.
If you do not have any current placements, the process is much simpler, but will still require references and the assessment process to be completed in the usual manner.
As Foster Carers with Evolve, typically you will receive a minimum of one visit each month from your designated Supervising Social Worker. In addition, you will meet with the staff team and your Foster Carer colleagues each month at the Foster Carer Support Group (Biscuit Barrel). Likewise, you will meet with your colleagues at our monthly training sessions. However, if additional visits are required, in order to provide a greater degree of support, we will be happy to facilitate this as necessary. Furthermore, we provide 24 hour, 7 days a week, out of hours telephone support from amongst our locally based staff team, and you will have peace of mind, knowing that you are “never alone in a crisis”.
