Following on from our previous post about the success of a young man in Foster Care, we thought we would share with you some more success!

Did you know that the below were all in care when they were younger? Whether it was for a short period, long term fostering or adoption.

Cher

Cher is a famous American singer, known for hits such as If I could turn back time, Gypsy’s, Tramps & Thieves.

She was fostered by her grandparents when her mother was no longer able to take care of her

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was an American actress, model and singer. Famous for playing the “Blonde Bombshell” characters.

She was placed in to a foster home shortly after her birth

Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy is an American actor, comedian and singer. Starring in hit films such as Beverly Hills Cop, Coming to America and The Nutty Professor.

He was sent to a foster home at eight years old, before returning home a year later

John Lennon

John Lennon was a singer, songwriter and peace activist who gained worldwide fame with iconic band, The Beatles.

He was taken into foster care and looked after by a relative

Steve Jobs was an American business man who was the chairman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Inc.

He was adopted shortly after he was born

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone is an American actor, most well-known for his roles in Rocky & Rambo.

He spent the first few years of his life in foster care before being reunited with his family

Debbie Harry

Debbie Harry is the lead singer of a popular band, Blondie.

She was adopted shortly after she turned 3 months old
